Brand Gold Coast will be the central place branding entity that provides guidance to all Council owned entities and community to establish and maintain a unified Gold Coast identity.
About the role
The Manager, Digital Storytelling will work closely with the CEO and Head of Brand Development and Operations to build a web presence, contemporary and evolving social media strategies and tactics, and a toolkit for Brand Gold Coast partners. You will be the design lead for the Gold Coast brand, ensuring a consistent and powerful tone, look, and feel. You will manage relationships with creative contractors and work with the Brand Gold Coast team to help partners tell the Gold Coast story.
Key responsibilities:
Act as in-house designer, developing and managing a range of digital and printed work.
Drive Brand Gold Coast social media channels, cultivating a strong local community and attracting audiences nationally and internationally.
Procure creative and outside agency support and manage web content and the Brand Gold Coast toolkit – a library of research, images, and videos.
Manage digital analytics and use data to inform strategies and tactics.
Work with the Brand Gold Coast team and other partners on qualitative and quantitative research.
Advise the CEO, Head of Brand Development and Operations, and other leaders on contemporary and effective strategies to reach our audiences and move them to action.
Manage the digital storytelling budget.
Participate meaningfully in strategic and corporate planning.

About you
You are energetic, empathetic, and proactive. You love design and digital communications almost as much as you love the Gold Coast. You thrive in a start-up environment and a small team, and you are a doer who is curious about the field of place-branding. While you are deeply passionate about what you do, and highly skilled, you don’t take yourself too seriously. You have a customer-service mindset. We are looking for someone who is comfortable and confident behind a computer and an iPhone yet adores the freedom to get out into the community and tell Gold Coasters’ stories.
You will also have tertiary qualifications (or equivalent) in Design or Communications.
