We are seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to join our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this key leadership role will be part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), playing a vital role in shaping the company’s operational strategy and success. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in manufacturing operations, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive operational excellence in a safety-first culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage multiple teams, including operations, maintenance, and technical departments, to ensure optimal performance and efficient workflows

• Report directly to the General Manager and collaborate with the SLT to align on strategic goals and drive the company’s operational vision

• Implement and drive LEAN manufacturing principles to continuously improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance overall performance

• Oversee the daily operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring smooth execution of production schedules and meeting key performance indicators (KPIs)

• Foster a culture of safety, ensuring all team members adhere to safety protocols and comply with all relevant industry regulations

• Demonstrate exceptional communication skills to liaise with internal teams, external stakeholders, and senior leadership effectively

• Resolve conflicts promptly and professionally, fostering a positive work environment and maintaining team morale

• Monitor and report on operational performance, highlighting areas for improvement and recommending solutions

• Ensure compliance with all manufacturing regulations and industry standards, including safety, environmental, and quality requirements

• Contribute to strategic planning and the achievement of business objectives, utilizing strong business acumen

Skills & Experience Required:

• Proven experience as an Operations Manager or in a similar leadership role within a manufacturing environment

• Timber industry experience is highly regarded but not essential

• Proven project management skills with the ability to oversee major CAPEX expansion

• Ability to understand stakeholder responsibility through direct and indirect reporting

• Strong background in LEAN manufacturing practices, with demonstrated success in driving operational improvements

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead diverse teams

• Solid conflict resolution skills and the ability to maintain a harmonious working environment

• Strong commitment to safety and ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety standards

• Demonstrated ability to manage and improve manufacturing operations, with a focus on efficiency and cost control

• Computer literate, with proficiency in using manufacturing software and tools for reporting and performance tracking

• Strong business acumen and a deep understanding of compliance requirements in manufacturing operations
