Accounts Payable Officer
Temporary Contract | 3 Months | 38 Hours Per Week
$36.09 per hour + super | Eastern Suburbs | Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite, 2 Days WFH

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to support our client, a forward-thinking council located in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. This is a 3-month temporary opportunity starting ASAP, ideal for someone with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

This role will see you play a key part in supporting the transition to a new finance system while helping to manage an invoice backlog. You’ll work closely with the Finance team to ensure accuracy in processing, reconciliation, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the backlog of invoices during the transition to TechnologyOne/FinanceOne
• Prepare, process and post batches of invoices and credit notes to the general ledger
• Reconcile the creditors ledger with the general ledger and make necessary adjustments
• Regularly reconcile supplier balances with external statements and follow up discrepancies
• Support the Financial Accounting team with reconciliations and journals as needed

About You:

• Previous experience in a similar role within local government, education, healthcare, or not-for-profit
• Skilled in accounts payable processes and general ledger reconciliation
• Confident working with Excel and financial systems
• Experience with TechnologyOne, FinanceOne, or Computron highly regarded
