To continue to deliver for our community, we are seeking a Coordinator Open Spaces Maintenance.
This role will provide you the opportunity to:
Coach and empower a team of operators and specialist professionals in the management of public open spaces, tree services, Splash Park aquatic facility and roadsides in a growing and diverse municipality
Coordinate the response to open space customer service requests and Requests for Information including provision of specialist advice, inspection, assessment, action, and closure.
Oversee a program of regular inspections/audits across the Open Space network to assess hazards and ensure the quantity and quality of maintenance works.
Lead the team in the development of new, or in the review & updating of, strategies, plans policies, procedures through a consultative process with internal and external stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement.
Oversee the engagement, coordination of contractor / third party contractors to complete works outside the scope of Council internal resources.
Work closely with a dedicated team and engage with the organisation, stakeholders and community to deliver quality open space service provision.
Our ideal candidate will have:
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills that enables effective leadership and that fosters an ability to respond / present to customers, Council and staff.
Demonstrated experience in leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver high quality maintenance outcomes.
Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing proactive operational / maintenance work programs, schedules, systems and processes that can accommodate a degree of reactive work.
Knowledge of overseeing efficient and effective fleet management.
Demonstrated experience in the implementation and continuous improvement of Occupational Health and Safety and risk management requirements as is applicable to the role.
Demonstrated ability to model and drive a workforce culture that focuses upon safety, corporate values, collaboration and continual improvement.
Well-developed problem-solving skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities, both in the office and site operational environments.
Proficiency in the preparation of reports, briefings, and presentations, budget management and other specialist programs that may support the delivery of open space maintenance and Council Plan objectives.
