Nobleseas Engineering Pty Ltd is a Perth based independent engineering management
consultancy and service provider. Our primary service areas are offshore, subsea, and marine engineering covering structural, hydrodynamic, and process engineering.
We provide engineering support for operations, integrity management (inspection, maintenance, and repair), modification, life extension, conversion, retrofit and decommissioning of subsea and marine assets. We also provide engineering services to support feasibility, FEED and detailed engineering phases of the project.
We are currently seeking full-time Naval Architect to join our team. Your duties will be as follows:
Key Responsibilities:
· Finite element analyses of vessel and offshore structures, tests the behavior and durability of materials used in their construction, and designs. Supervising the construction of all types of structures may be required.
· Review and technical assessment of ship hull and topside structural integrity scopes
· Designing vessel structures - develop detailed 3D models and structural designs using CAD and FEM tools.
· Carry out CFD and resistance/propulsion analyses to optimize hull designs.
· Liaise with Class society and Marine Warranty Surveyor on development and finalization of towing and voyage planning
· Develop top-side modules and equipment survey scope for sea fastening and strength assessment
· Studying engineering drawings and specifications to estimate total costs, and preparing detailed cost plans and estimates as tools to assist in budgetary control
· Designing offshore structures to ensure they do not collapse, bend, fail due to shear stress or vibrate in undesirable ways due to internal and external loadings
· Evaluate fatigue, stress, and structural behavior of double-bottom hulls and offshore winch installations.
· Select materials for structural components based on operational requirements (e.g., corrosion resistance).
· Determining design methods, materials and quality standards, and drafting and interpreting specifications, drawings, plans, structure design methods and procedures.
· Monitoring changes to structural designs, assessing effects on EPCI cost, and measuring, valuing and negotiating variations to designs
Key attributes for successful Candidates:
· Minimum 5 years of experience in the marine industry
· Relevant Bachelors or higher degree in Naval Architecture/Mechanical or Civil Engineering
· Must have prior experience in offshore unit towing or marine transportation
· Experience in analyzing offshore structural systems for both static and dynamic load applications
· Must have knowledge and understanding of Class rules and Guidelines for Marine Transportations
· High proficiency in English communication while excellent technical report writing skills
· Must have software experience: SACS/ANSYS, SESAM, AutoCAD and MS Office
· Prior experience of reviewing and preparing technical deliverables including tending packages, analysis reports, layout drawings etc.
· Experience and understanding of structural finite element strength and fatigue analysis for ship structures will be advantageous
Salary: $90,000 per year
