About the Position

We are seeking a Head of EAP (English for Academic Purposes) to join our Academic division. Reporting to the Vice-President, Academic, the Head Of EAP plays a pivotal role in providing leadership and strategic direction for the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) curriculum development and delivery across all branches. You will also be responsible for aligning curriculum strategies with organisational goals and partner university requirements. while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure program excellence and global standards compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Management:

Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of EAP curriculum frameworks and teaching methodologies.

Ensure curriculum alignment with academic standards, accreditation requirements, and learning outcomes.

Lead innovation in teaching practices and integration of educational technologies.

Collaborate with discipline lecturers and coordinators to align EAP and ACW (Academic Content Workshops) course content.

Faculty Coordination:

Supervise the recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of EAP Master Teachers and faculty members.

Foster a collaborative culture among coordinators and educators to enhance teaching quality.

Facilitate training sessions to ensure branches are equipped with the latest educational practices.

Student Support:

Oversee the design and implementation of student support programs across branches, focusing on academic success and well-being.

Provide guidance for resolving complex academic and program-related issues.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

Implement quality assurance mechanisms to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of AEAP course programs, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to learning outcomes.

Observe teaching in branches and liaise with all Branch Deputy Head and Course leaders, conduct periodic program reviews and assessments to ensure adherence to accreditation standards and best practices.

Prepare and analyse academic data and feedback to identify areas for improvement and propose strategies for enhancement.

Other responsibilities in line with the level of the role may be assigned by the Executive Director (Academic Operation) and/or Dean (College of Academic Language)

Operational and Team Coordination

Lead and manage a team of EAP Master Teachers, providing mentorship and performance feedback.

Monitor and support course leaders in the delivery of curriculum at individual branches.

Ensure effective communication and coordination between branches and the central academic team.

Qualifications & Experience

Master’s or PhD in Education, Applied Linguistics, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years’ teaching experience in higher education.

Demonstrated leadership in EAP curriculum development and innovation.

Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.

Familiarity with both Chinese and global education systems is highly desirable.

Fluent in both Mandarin and English.

Flexibility to travel to China for program oversight.
