We're seeking a skilled and driven Senior Protection Engineer to join our high-performing team based in Wetherill Park. In this full-time role, you’ll work on some of NSW’s most critical high-voltage infrastructure projects — designing relay files, implementing GOOSE messaging, and commissioning protection systems on-site.

What You'll Do

Write Relay Files – Configure protection relays (SEL, GE, Siemens, Schneider) for HV installations and upgrades

IEC 61850 / GOOSE – Design and implement modern comms protocols for digital substations

On-Site Testing & Commissioning – Perform injection testing, logic verification, and full system commissioning across NSW

Support Critical Projects – Work alongside engineers and project managers on substations, renewables, industrial plants & more

Lead With Safety – Ensure all works comply with relevant electrical standards, DNSP requirements, and WHS protocols

What You Bring

Bachelor of Electrical or Power Systems Engineering (or Diploma with strong experience)

3+ years’ experience in protection engineering

Strong understanding of relay configuration software

Confident working with IEC 61850, SCADA, and GOOSE applications

Experience in secondary injection testing and commissioning

Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to site

Bonus: Familiarity with Omicron or Doble test gear, NER/CPEng status, or DNSP experience
