What is our Aboriginal Mental Health Officer role?
The Aboriginal Mental Health Officer must be of Aboriginal descent and will work with Indigenous young people referred to Youth Axis to help improve their social and emotional well-being. The role enhances access to services and will work alongside clinicians providing culturally informed assessments, interventions to young people and their families. The occupant of the role will provide cultural consultation, community engagement and development, education and training to clinical staff and community-based workers.

Eligibility to Apply: Australian citizenship or permanent residency is an essential requirement for applicants to be considered for permanent positions in the public sector.
