About the Role
We are seeking a Category Manager to manage procurement and contract activities for the Fleet Replacement Program at a local council. This role ensures efficient vendor management and high-quality service delivery by external contractors in line with NSW Government and Council standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement and contract lifecycle for fleet and equipment replacement.
- Oversee vendor performance, contract compliance, KPIs, and benefits tracking.
- Ensure tenders and contracts are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality and scope requirements.
- Develop and maintain Contract Management Plans, including risk and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure WHS and environmental compliance.
- Provide advice on procurement practices and support government procurement accreditation efforts.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in procurement and contract coordination.
- Strong knowledge of tendering processes and contract administration.
- Understanding of Local and State Government procurement processes (or willingness to learn).
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and risk management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple contracts and work autonomously.
