The Firm & The Role

Our client is a long established major commercial law firm and they have an outstanding reputation in the commercial and tax space. The team is headed up by a high profile tax partner. This partner and their team act for high net worth individuals, SMEs, ASX-listed companies, global entities, property developers, real estate and construction companies.

Due to new clients and new instructions, our client is looking to appoint an experienced tax lawyer at the Senior Lawyer, Senior Associate or Special Counsel level.

This role will see you having high levels of client and matter responsibility and you have the opportunity to foster strong client relationships.

Working closely with the partner, your role will be varied and challenged. You will work on major corporate transactions, tax due diligences, provide tax advice, manage tax audits, provide advice on stamp duty and GST, provide advice on restructurings, provide advice on estate and succession planning, provide tax advice on property deals, provide general commercial advice. The work is interesting and broad.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• At least 4 years pae experience in the area of tax law
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• First rate advising and drafting skills
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Highly-developed organisational skills
• Ability to work independently, but within a team-focused environment
• Ability to supervise, mentor and develop junior lawyers
• Ability to play an important role in the further growth of the team
• Drive, ambition and enthusiasm for practising law that is results driven
