Reception & Admin Role (Full-Time, East Brisbane)

A varied, people-focused role in a calm and capable team.
We’re looking for someone who naturally brings care, energy, and structure into their work — someone who loves making things run smoothly, brightening people's days, and being the person the team can rely on.
Maybe you’ve worked as a receptionist or admin before, in a busy environment like medical, professional services, or education. Maybe life has changed a little — and now you’re looking for a role that’s still engaging, still important, but fits a little better with the life you’ve built.
This is a role with plenty of variety, room to take ownership, and flexibility when it’s needed. You’ll have clear expectations and support, but also the freedom to manage your day in a way that works best for your brain and your body. If you need to take a personal call, duck out for something urgent, or switch to lighter work on a tough day — that’s okay here. We get it.
You’ll be joining a small, friendly IT consulting team based in East Brisbane. There’s about ten of us (plus a few roles we’re recruiting for), and we work out of a converted Queenslander that feels more like a shared studio than a corporate office. Our admin team is the heart of what keeps everything running.
This role would suit someone with a bit of admin or reception experience under their belt, who’s confident handling the basics and ready to keep building from there. It’s a Level 2 position under the Clerks Award, with plenty of variety and room to grow over time.
What the role involves:
You’ll be one of two full-time Administrators working closely together, sharing responsibilities across:
Reception — greeting visitors and handling incoming calls warmly and professionally
Scheduling — keeping meetings and calendars clear, accurate, and conflict-free
Office management — maintaining supplies, coordinating vendors, tracking inventory
Event planning — organising team lunches, birthday celebrations, EOFY parties
Finance support — helping with invoices, expenses, and light bookkeeping (full training provided)
Admin support — preparing documents, updating records, helping onboard new staff
The work is fast-moving at times but rarely high-pressure. There are policies and structures in place, but we trust you to manage your workload and choose the best way to get things done.
You’ll thrive in this role if:
You love bringing organisation, warmth, and a little bit of joy to your workday
You enjoy variety and like having a hand in lots of different areas
You appreciate structure and clear expectations, but value flexibility when it's needed
You’re reliable, calm, and take pride in getting things done properly
You’re comfortable working closely with another Administrator as true equals
You like being part of a small, friendly team where people know and look out for each other
Some basic financial understanding would be helpful but isn't essential — we'll teach you what you need to know, and you’ll have the support of leadership and an external accountant when needed.

How to apply
If this sounds like your kind of workplace, we’d love to hear from you. Please send us your resume and a short cover letter — no need to overthink it. We care more about how you work than how you format.
We’re looking to fill the role as soon as possible, so let us know if you’re available to start right away (or soon).
The first round of applications will be reviewed from the 7th of May, with interviews arranged between the 8th and 15th. A second round of shortlisting may occur on the 14th, with interviews for that round happening between the 15th and 22nd.
