About us:
Campbelltown City Council is preparing for the next 20 year regional processing/disposal procurement project (Project 24) and a dedicated education officer has been identified to improve source separation and resource recovery across the community. The education officer will focus on preparing the community for best practice resource recovery in the lead up to the next contract.
About the role:
We are seeking a permanent full time Resource Recovery Education and Projects Officer, focusing on improving the quality of dry recyclables/garden organics and will work in conjunction with our MUD Waste Management Officer to address the quality of kerbside materials from medium and high density, multi-dwelling/mixed use residential developments and public housing developments.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive job-related experience in resource recovery and waste management.
Demonstrated knowledge of the waste management industry, current government policy on waste and resource recovery, and technical issues regarding domestic waste services.
Experience in coordination and delivery of projects.
Experience in providing a high level of customer service and resolving obstacles to service delivery.
Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
Experience in networking and building relationships with internal business units and external agencies.
Current Class C drivers licence.
