About the role

Coogee is seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to join our team.

As the HSEQ Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the Coogee East Coast Operations achieve a high level of HSEQ performance through provision of advice and systems to support operational risk management, workplace health and safety, process safety, environmental and quality management. This role is based in Lytton QLD, however there will be the requirement to conduct regular site visits to our terminals and depots throughout QLD and NSW.

What you'll be doing

Developing, implementing and maintaining HSEQ management systems and procedures

Ensuring that business Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Registers are adequately maintained and provide Dangerous Goods advice to stakeholders to ensure that chemicals risk assessments and approvals are effectively coordinated

Conducting risk assessments, safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards

Delivering engaging training programs to upskill the workforce on HSEQ best practices

Investigating incidents and near-misses, and implementing corrective and preventative actions to mitigate future occurrences

Liaising with regulatory authorities, identifying legislative compliance requirements and ensuring Coogee HSEQ standards are kept updated and applied as required, inclusive of licensing and permit conditions

Collaborating with operational teams to embed HSEQ considerations into all business activities and decision-making processes

Preparing reports and dashboards to provide management with visibility on HSEQ performance and compliance

What we're looking for

A minimum qualification of Certificate IV in Workplace, Health and Safety (WHS)

Strong experience (3+ years) in a HSEQ Advisory role, within a similar industry

Strong knowledge of current WHS, Dangerous Goods, Major Hazard Facility and environmental legislation and regulations

A demonstrated capability in the implementation and maintenance of ISO9001 quality management system

Sound understanding of risk assessment, HAZOP and LOPA methodologies

Proven capability in root cause analysis
