We are currently seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic HSEQ Coordinator to join as a member of our Integrity Team (HSEQ & Community Relations).
The Role
Under the direct supervision and guidance of the HSEQ Manager, the Metrocorp HSEQ Coordinator will be responsible for:
Providing technical guidance to all levels of the organisation regarding legislative compliance, Workplace Health and Safety issues, risk and mitigation.
Preparing project management documentation including Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Environmental Work Method Statement (EWMS), Project Management Plans (SMP, QMP, CEMP) and other relevant project safety documentation.
Undertaking/leading onsite inspections, toolbox talks and HSEQ training programs.
Assisting with the management of workplace incidents, near misses and injuries including investigations and initiating corrective and preventive actions.
Supporting and facilitating risk assessments.
Implementing, maintaining, and monitoring compliance with the Integrated Management System and Project Management Plans.
Developing and maintaining project training requirements for workers & subcontractors
Investigating and developing new HSEQ initiatives across the business.
Conducting/developing site-specific inductions for all employees, service providers, subcontractors and visitors to sites.
Acting as a key representative for Metrocorp with our clients – interacting with client representatives onsite and during project planning meetings.
About you
You are an organised and self-motivated person who takes ownership and pride in their work.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety –
Master of Occupational Health and Safety,
Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety,
Graduate Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop relationships to actively reinforce and promote a positive HSEQ culture across the organisation.
Highly competent in administration using Microsoft software and other IT systems.
Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage deadlines and think on your feet.
Maintains a current (minimum class C) drivers licence.
A curious mindset with a desire to obtain a first-hand, practical understanding of how our works are completed.
Desirable (not mandatory)
Return to work coordinator training.
ICAM lead investigator.
Lead auditor qualifications.
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Standard working hours will be Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.
However, flexible work hours will be required based on client and project specific needs, this may include limited night and weekend work.
