The Opportunity

As a member of the Site Technical team, the Quality Assurance Officer role is a technical position, reporting directly to the Quality Manager who is based in the Head Office in Sydney. The role has responsibility for all aspects of Quality.

This position will suit a person who likes variety. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining NCR both internal and external, creating reports on issues for clients and addressing concerns with staff, making recommendations for training and/or supervision for staff if needed
  • Monitoring workflow procedures, and working with each area to make improvements and problem-solving
  • Internal and External Audit management
  • Work with certifying bodies whilst audits are performed
  • Liaising with management
  • Carry out staff training for GMP, HACCP and other relevant topics
  • Ensuring that the quality of products from production to finished product conforms to HACCP standards and the Quality Management System
  • Focus on quality output that meets customer expectations and agreed standards and specifications
  • Conducting inspections and testing on raw materials and finished products
  • Maintain all documentation in relation to quality procedures, records and HACC plans to ensure compliance with food safety standards
  • Creation, implementation and maintaining of new policies, and procedures and undertaking corrective actions
  • Communicating with production employees and senior management about any quality concerns
  • Driving a positive food safety and quality culture through the education of teams on site
  • Respond to items related to quality assurance raised by regulators and customers in a timely, and efficient manner
  • Support the Site Manager to build and maintain strong personal relationships with key client stakeholders

About You

You will have a mechanical background with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and a friendly and patient disposition with an ability to engage others and want to contribute to working with a growing and innovative company.

To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Must have Australian citizenship or permanent resident of Australia
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field
  • 3-5 years experience in quality assurance and control in manufacturing or a similar role
  • Ability to meet deadlines and exhibit a high degree of flexibility and versatility
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, supervision, reporting and organisational skills with a high demonstrable level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Awareness in occupational health and safety (OH&S)
  • Internal and external Customer focused
  • Advanced Microsoft Office, SAP and ASPECT skills
