Purpose of the Position
Australian Dairy Park (ADP) is a subsidiary of Ausnutria Australia. ADP is a dairy business manufacturing formulated milk powders for infants, toddlers, and adults for domestic and overseas markets.
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and overseeing general accounting operations. This role involves preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, and leading process improvements within the accounting function. The Senior Accountant collaborates with various departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and plays a key role in audit preparation and internal controls.
- Manage inventory and fixed asset accounting processes, including valuation, cost accounting, and asset depreciation schedules to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Monitor fixed asset acquisitions, disposals, and reconciliations to maintain accurate records and compliance with accounting policies.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Oversee general ledger activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
- Assist in budget preparation, cash flow management, profit and loss forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and liaising with tax advisors.
- Manage accounts payable, and accounts receivable as needed.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in financial operations.
- Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, providing training and support as required.
- Stay updated with regulatory changes and financial best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing accounting environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
- Experience in audit, tax compliance, and financial analysis, inventory management, asset management is a plus.
