About the Role
Join our team as a Smoke Alarm Inspector, ensuring rental properties comply with Victorian Government regulations, including Smoke Alarm Compliance and Rental Minimum Standards. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the safety of tenants and maintaining legal compliance for rental properties.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct smoke alarm inspections in rental properties in line with the 12-month compliance requirement.
Test, maintain, and replace smoke alarms and batteries as needed.
Identify and report any non-compliance issues related to smoke alarm placement and rental minimum standards.
Document inspections and compliance status using provided tools and software.
Ensure clear communication with property managers and landlords regarding compliance and necessary follow-ups.
What We’re Looking For
Strong attention to detail and ability to quickly grasp regulations related to smoke alarm installation and compliance.
No formal licensing is required for this role (you do not need to be an electrician)
A proactive approach to safety and compliance.
Ideally, previous experience with smoke alarm testing and maintenance.
Ability to work independently and efficiently while maintaining high standards.
Job Type: Full-Time
Standard workweek: Monday to Friday, 8 AM – 4 PM
Consistent workload throughout the year with a stable schedule.
Essential Equipment & Requirements
A reliable vehicle capable of transporting a ladder. (your own vehicle with vehicle allowance paid)
A sturdy A-frame ladder (preferably fibreglass) to reach 3-metre ceilings. (Checkhero can supply)
A valid driver’s licence.
