Industry Trainer/Assessor

Motivation Foundation is a Western Australian registered Charity that assists over 400 young people a year through Civil and Mining Academies. Students come from diverse backgrounds. Graduates who complete the course have a high industry employment outcome rate.

Position Scope

Motivation Civil and Mining Academy works with WA High Schools and young people disengaged from mainstream education who are looking for a meaningful pathway that leads to employment and an industry-based career.

The Trainer/Assessor at Motivation Foundation plays a critical role in delivering vocational training and individualised support to students, providing pathways toward further education/training and meaningful employment. Working within the Motivation Foundation environment, the Trainer/Assessor is responsible for delivering training programs that support students’ educational re-engagement, vocational skills, practical employability skills and personal growth.

The Trainer/Assessor is also responsible for the direct supervision of training and support staff engaged in the delivery of the program.

This role requires a flexible, student-centred approach, with a focus on creating a positive and inclusive learning environment tailored to meet the individual needs of young people enrolled in the Academy.

Position Knowledge, Experience and Skills

Required:

Technical knowledge, competency and industry experience in civil construction

Working With Children Check

Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (Less than 3 months old)

Police Clearance (Less than 3 months old)

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116/TAE40122) or equivalent.

RII20720 Certificate II in Civil Construction (or higher level qualification)

RIIMPO317F Conduct roller operations

CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (white card)

Must have the Right to Work in Australia

Desirable or willing to obtain (as required):

2 years' experience delivering vocational training

RIIMPO320F Conduct civil construction excavator operations

RIIMP0321F Conduct civil construction wheeled front end loader operations

RIIMPO324F Conduct civil construction grader operations

RIIMPO318F Conduct civil construction skid steer loader operations

Demonstrated:

High level communication skills

Initiative and motivation to perform well

Planning and organisational skills

Ability to operate the Microsoft Suite of Product as relevant to job role

*Where appropriate the Motivation Foundation will support you in gaining the qualifications and tickets if required

Remuneration and Conditions:

Attractive salary package

12% Superannuation (from 1st July 2025)

6 Weeks annual leave (During school holiday periods)

$2,650 tax free (Meals and Entertainment)
