YWCA Canberra is expanding its services and seeking an exceptional Program Manager / Educational Leader to lead our new Before and After School Care program for children aged 5 to 12 years, located in the heart of South Canberra.
This part-time role (40 weeks per year) gives you the school holidays off, perfect for those who love working with children but value balance, too!
🎯 About the Role
As our Program Manager, you’ll lead a dedicated team of educators to deliver vibrant, inclusive, and high-quality School Age Care (SAC) programs — both before and after school — for primary-aged children.
This is your opportunity to:
Create a nurturing and fun environment where children feel safe, supported, and inspired
Design and implement engaging programs that align with My Time Our Place 2.0
Mentor and lead educators with purpose and professionalism
Foster meaningful relationships with children, families, schools, and the broader community
You’ll have a specialised support team behind you, including:
Operations Director
Quality & Compliance Manager
Quality Support Team
Roster Clerk
Accounts & Enrolments Team
What You’ll Bring
Minimum Diploma of Education and Care (or ACECQA-approved equivalent — transcript required)
Strong knowledge of School Age Care programming and inclusive practice
Understanding of the National Quality Framework, SAC regulations, and child-led pedagogies
Proven leadership experience with a collaborative, nurturing style
WWVP registration (or willingness to obtain), First Aid certification, and satisfactory Police Check
Full driver’s licence and vehicle (preferred)
