Are you passionate about early childhood education and empowering families to create strong learning foundations for their children? Meli is looking for a HIPPY Leader to drive positive educational outcomes for young children and their families through the Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY). This is an opportunity to lead a community-driven initiative that supports families in building their children's confidence, school readiness, and love for learning.

About the Role

As a HIPPY Leader, you will:

  • Oversee the implementation and delivery of the HIPPY program, ensuring alignment with the HIPPY framework, compliance standards, and funding agreements.
  • Lead and mentor a team of HIPPY Mentors, providing weekly support and guidance in delivering high-quality, evidence-based learning to families.
  • Engage with families experiencing vulnerability or disadvantage, supporting them through in-home visits, group gatherings, and community connections to enhance children’s early learning experiences.
  • Strengthen family capacity by coordinating projects that focus on empowering parents as their child’s first educators, fostering a love of learning.
  • Develop partnerships with key stakeholders such as early childhood services, schools, and local community organisations to promote service collaboration and information sharing.

What We're Looking For

We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Early Childhood, Social Work, Psychology, Welfare, or a related field (Bachelor’s or Diploma level).
  • Experience in early intervention services, supporting children’s health and wellbeing while empowering families facing vulnerability, using a strength-based, family-centered approach in both home and group settings.
  • Proven ability to lead and supervise staff in welfare and/or education sectors, fostering team capacity and a cooperative work environment.
  • Strong community engagement skills, with experience building partnerships with professionals and local services, and knowledge of the Best Interests Framework and Early Years Strategy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, data entry, and training delivery.
  • Current drivers license.
