Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our five main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital.

In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

About Mental Health Division:

Northern Health is the third largest mental health service in Victoria Northern.

Within the Mental Health Division, we pride ourselves on providing high quality mental health services to people living in the northern regions of Melbourne, and work in a collaborative way with consumers and carers based on recovery principles.

We provide a comprehensive range of specialist mental health services to people who reside in the local government area of Merri-bek, Hume, Darebin and Whittlesea.

Adult Community Mental Health Services are provided at Broadmeadows, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

About the Role:

The Role: Mental Health Community Group Program Clinician - Grade 2 Allied Health or Grade 3 Registered Mental Health Nurse - full time

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Mental Health clinician (Grade 2 Mental Health Allied Health Clinician or Grade 3 Registered Mental Health Nurse) to work with the four Community Adult Mental Health teams, as the Community group program clinician.

This is a permanent full time position.

Your role will be initially to work with the Group program Coordinator to develop the Adult Community Mental Health group program.

Once designed, the Group Clinician is responsible for facilitating program activities, including promotion and recruitment of consumers, setting up for sessions and actively participating in the delivery and evaluation of the group program.

You will be involved in:

  • The design, promotion, delivery and evaluation of the adult community mental health group program
  • Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Supervision of staff and/or students, as required

This role requires:

  • Qualifications and relevant registrations in Allied health or nursing
  • Experience working in community mental health services
  • Experience in the development and delivery of groups
  • Capacity to work independently and within a team
  • A friendly, collaborative and professional attitude.
  • Excellent engagement, relationship, and therapeutic skills
  • Working across the adult mental health sites.

The Community teams are supportive and dynamic public mental health team made up of staff that are truly passionate and motivated in supporting consumers and their families/carers.

We provide a comprehensive range of specialist mental health services to people who reside in the northern metropolitan region. It is an exciting time to join the community teams, as we implement our new model of care, which includes Outpatient Clinics, an enhanced clinical stream and a group program.
