We are looking for a full time experienced Veterinary Nurse to join our team.

Adelaide Veterinary Surgical Services are a team of 15 staff who support Dr Richard, Dr Emma & Dr Lucas and are looking to expand. We pride ourselves on providing excellent standards of care and going above and beyond for owners. You will be supporting a dedicated team focused on surgical services in a busy environment where a myriad of complex and intricate soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries are performed every day.

We are located in Bellevue Heights, around 25 minutes from the CBD with picturesque views of the city on our door step. We offer a range of services that include in-house pathology, digital x-rays, ultrasound, endoscopy, CT and much more. Our PMS is RX Works and we have an IDEXX in-house laboratory.

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Veterinary Nurse. Rostering will include Monday to Friday shifts and some Saturday’. The ideal candidate will be an all-rounder who can work on reception, in hospital and as a surgical nurse and anaesthetist. It is essential the right candidate possesses proficient anaesthetic monitoring skills. Experience in orthopaedic surgery is ideal as this role will include assisting in these procedures as a sterile scrub nurse as well as preparing and draping patients.

The primary responsibilities of these positions include:

Delivering excellent client and patient care

Client relations, phone service and reception duties

Updating patient records including billing and discharge notes

Anaesthetic monitoring and surgical preparation, pre and post-operative patient care

Administering medications, bandaging, collecting and analysing pathology samples in-house, placing and maintenance of IV catheters/fluid lines and CRI’s

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing qualification, with minimum 5 years of experience

Commitment to providing high standards of care to all patients and clients

Plenty of experience in a sterile surgical theatre

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both clients and colleagues

Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and willingness to get involved
