We are now seeking a Contract Administration Lead to join our high-performing Commercial team and play a key role in the successful execution of this nationally significant project.

Your new role:

As the Contract Administration Lead, you will take a hands-on leadership role, overseeing downstream subcontract management across time, cost, quality, and risk.

You’ll lead a small but mighty team of Contract Administrators and Quantity Surveyors, ensuring that downstream contracts are expertly managed from tendering through to project completion and closeout.

You’ll be the key link between our Procurement, Engineering, Commercial and Field Services teams — both onshore in Australia and offshore in Germany — helping protect our commercial interests and preserve upstream entitlements through effective subcontract administration.

This is a pivotal leadership opportunity offering variety, complexity, and the chance to make a genuine impact on the success of the Snowy 2.0 project.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all downstream subcontract administration activities across the Snowy 2.0 project
• Mentor and guide a team of Contract Administrators and Quantity Surveyors on contract management best practices
• Oversee subcontract lifecycle management including changes, claims, disputes, and closeout
• Support tendering activities with the Procurement team during the sourcing phase
• Drive compliance with subcontract and head contract obligations, commercial risk mitigation, and claims management strategies
• Work closely with key stakeholders across Commercial, Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Logistics, and Field Services
• Support upstream claims preparation and develop effective strategies for risk and opportunity management
• Lead resolution of disputes and negotiations with subcontractors where required
• Promote process improvement and identify opportunities for automation

What you'll bring to the team:

• 10+ years of senior experience in commercial, contract, and downstream contract management on major Australian projects
• Strong background in Electrical and Mechanical scopes, preferably in underground construction environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Administration, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, or related fields
• Expertise in contract drafting, interpretation, claims, dispute resolution, and financial management
• Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills, with the ability to work across diverse teams and time zones
• SAP system experience highly regarded
• Flexibility to work on a 14/7 roster if required at the Cooma, NSW, and Snowy Project Site
