An interest and qualifications in Equine Assisted Therapy or a trained therapy dog would be highly regarded.
Mullum Road Clinic in Panton Hill is seeking an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about integrating animal-assisted therapy and nature-based therapy into their practice. Experience with horses and a passion to complete certification in Equine Assisted Therapy would be an advantage.

Founded in 2009, Mullum Road Clinic now operates in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, including locations in Eltham, Ringwood, Croydon, Warrandyte and Panton Hill.
Our multidisciplinary team includes psychologists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and art therapists.
Director and Owner of Mullum Road Clinic, Leanne Winter (Clinical Psychologist) has lived experiences of neurodivergence and actively supports others who identify as neurodivergent.
Mullum Road Clinic welcomes individuals of all ages, genders and backgrounds. We are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for all people. We offer therapy and assessments to adults, adolescents and children, with a special focus on individual’s identifying as Autistic, ADHDers, Audhders and individuals exploring gender and sexual diversity.

The Opportunity:
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our vibrant and supportive teams at Panton Hill and Warrandyte. The role offers the chance to work creatively with clients through animal-assisted therapy and nature-based therapy approaches. While room-based therapy is also part of the role, we encourage innovative and experiential therapies to support client’s development and emotional wellbeing.
The clinics offer a supportive and friendly team environment, aiming to enable practitioners to make effective changes for their clients. The rooms are very comfortable, welcoming and homely.
Full administration is provided and each clinic has its own Practice Manager. Many clients report that “it feels like walking into a home, rather than a clinic”.
While prior experience in private practice is not necessary, we provide comprehensive support for those new to private practice, including assistance with administrative procedures and client management
WHAT WE OFFER YOU
You will work in a highly supportive and friendly environment providing you with the opportunity to succeed as a private practitioner
Fortnightly formal assessment training at no cost
You will be provided with full reception and administration support
Clients are provided
Opportunities to use small animals such as lizards and guinea pigs and/or the option to train your own therapy dog
ABOUT THE SUCCESSFUL OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
Demonstrate a passion in working with those identifying as neurodivergent.
Demonstrate the desire and capacity to work as part of a team, supporting one another to improve and succeed in private practice
Demonstrate a compassionate and enthusiastic approach and have a genuine desire to improve client's emotional well-being
Motivated to build strong therapeutic relationships with clients and developing relationships with referrers and other allied health clinics
Hold registration with AHPRA, professional indemnity insurance, Working with Children Check, and an understanding of NDIS.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
Interest in Autism, ADHD, gender diversity and working largely with individuals identifying as neurodivergent
Identifying as neurodivergent yourself
Interest in learning about or prior experience in Animal Assisted Therapy.
