Metropolitan Memorial Parks is seeking dedicated and motivated team members to join our Grounds team at our Woronora Memorial Park site. At Metropolitan Memorial Parks, we uphold values of understanding, honour and respect for the individuals we assist daily.

In this role, you will be responsible for grounds maintenance tasks to support the operational needs of the cemetery grounds.

Responsibilities include:

Performing grounds maintenance tasks, including turf maintenance, pest and disease control, pruning, hedging, fertilising, and minor building maintenance.

Utilising a range of equipment such as hand tools, backpack blowers, hedgers, brush cutters, chainsaws, push and ride-on mowers.

Engaging in general landscape construction activities.

Conducting chemical spraying for weed and pest management.

Assisting in planting trees, shrubs and annuals, including following planting plans.

Managing turf, including laying and regular maintenance, and contributing to establishing spray and fertilising schedules.

Effectively communicating with Funeral Directors, families and visitors.

Providing additional support to the Burials and Crematorium team when necessary.

About You:

You will possess a mature outlook and a positive “can-do" attitude. The role involves public and community visibility therefore you will be required to perform your duties with empathy and professionalism and address general enquiries.

Role Requirements:

A White Card (or willingness to obtain).

A passion for working outdoors and ability to work in all weather conditions.

Enjoyment working in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.

Demonstration of using your initiative, self-motivation, and contribution to planning and scheduling.

Punctuality, reliability, and presentability.

The ability to work both unsupervised and as part of a cohesive team.

A strong attention to detail.

Possessing a current, unrestricted driver’s license.
