The Opportunity

Employment Type: The opportunity is available for either Permanent Full Time OR Permanent Part Time dependent on the best fit for the ideal candidate and the business.

Shift Pattern: Up to 38hours per week, in shifts aligned to the work program between 9am & 6pm Monday to Friday (with occasional work required on Saturday or Sunday dependant by mutual agreement).

Location: The role will be servicing a schedule of clients across the inner west and south-eastern Melbourne suburbs.

Company Vehicle: The role will include access to a fully serviced company vehicle, including reasonable allowance for out of business hours travel.

Wages: The role will be remunerated according to the Fair Work Cleaning Services Award MA000022, which can be found at https://www.fairwork.gov.au/employment-conditions/awards/list-of-awards#m

Application & Recruitment Process: Following submission of a written application an in-person interview will be conducted via Google Teams for short listed candidates. Candidates successful in the first round interview will be taken to an in-person interview before a preferred candidate is selected for a trial. Police & reference checks will be completed prior to commencing any employment.

The Job Description

Purpose: The Operations Specialist is instrumental in maintaining the smooth execution of daily operations, spanning various tasks in commercial cleaning and property management. From routine cleaning to advanced property management and gardening services, this role ensures that our service standards remain exceptional. Through our robust training program, the Operations Specialist is equipped with the necessary skills to execute their responsibilities safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Routine Cleaning Activities: To conduct routine cleaning services including mopping, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning of toilets / bathrooms, emptying of bins according to the work scope developed specifically for each client.

Specialist Cleaning Activities: To perform specialist cleaning periodically or on demand including pressure cleaning, floor scrubbing, window washing (from ground or ladder access only), builders cleans and rubbish removal.

Routine Property Maintenance Activities: To perform routine and on demand minor property maintenance / handyman activities such as painting, minor property repairs or additions (e.g. fix a letter box into place / oil a hinge / mount a fly screen door etc.)

Rubbish Removal: To remove dumped rubbish from the clients’ property and dispose of at the local waste transfer station (from time to time where required).

Gardening & Grounds Keeping: To conduct routine gardening and grounds keeping services including lawn mowing and edging, trimming of bushes, shrubs and small trees, sweeping or blowing of garden paths, weeding and poisoning of weeds, fertilising of gardens etc.

Client Relations: To build and maintain positive relationships with clients whilst on site, including to identify and facilitate solutions to clients needs as they emerge.

Routine Reporting: To routinely maintain active reporting within the company management tool(s), including to report when arriving and departing a clients’ site, and to share relevant feedback and images pertaining to the work scope (or information that would be relevant to the client)

Cleaning & Property Management Proficiency: Capable of mastering various commercial cleaning & property management tasks, encompassing restroom sanitation, window cleaning, pressure washing, handy man activities and waste removal.

Physical Capability: Able to perform a range of manual tasks, including lawn mowing, shrub and small tree trimming, rubbish collection, and gardening duties.

Equipment Proficiency: Comfortable and proficient in using power tools such as chainsaws, lawn mowers, and pressure washers whilst adhering to the company's safe work methods.

Minimum Qualifications

A suitable working visa, including rights to work up to 38hrs per week

Australian Drivers License or an equivalent international drivers license.

Comfortable performing physical work duties

Comfortable driving a short wheel base van with limited side and rear access.

Previous experience in customer relations a plus

Previous experience in commercial cleaning, gardening or labouring a plus (not mandatory)
