About You
We are looking for a practical, team-oriented individual who takes pride in their work and values safety, reliability and quality. As Maintenance Officer, you will carry out a wide range of general and preventative maintenance tasks across Fairview Village, helping to ensure the comfort, safety and functionality of the buildings and grounds.
You will be capable of working independently while also contributing to a small, supportive team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a problem-solving mindset, and relevant hands-on experience in maintenance and general building tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Refurbishing resident rooms, units and apartments upon departures and vacancies.
Performing manual handling tasks, such as moving furniture and equipment.
Maintaining gardens and grounds, including mowing, pruning and planting.
Conducting general maintenance including lightbulb replacement, battery changes and pressure washing.
Installing home care aids such as grab rails and ramps.
Performing preventative maintenance checks on smoke detectors, locks, etc.
Assisting with basic nurse call equipment setups and checks.
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in general maintenance/handy man work and/or building work.
Proven ability to work safely, efficiently and with minimal supervision.
Full (manual) Driver’s Licence.
Current Influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations (or willingness to obtain).
Clear National Police Check (issued within the last 12 months).
Access to a valid email address and basic computer literacy.
Experience in gardening or working in an aged care setting is an advantage.
Hours of work for this role are Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. In addition to this, you must be available for on call work for 1 week per month. This may include on call work on weekends.
