Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Associate Lecturer/Lecturer in Paramedicine to join School of Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Health.
The Paramedicine Discipline within the School of Clinical Sciences has an exciting opportunity for outstanding candidates for ongoing full-time Associate Lecturer and Lecturer positions. The position(s) includes but is not limited to the coordination of units, teaching, research, assisting clinical facilitators and other clinical staff working with students on placement, providing academic support for students both on campus and on placement, supervising students and facilitating clinical learning, and ensuring the quality of student learning experiences.

The School of Clinical Sciences is composed of six distinct disciplines; medical radiation sciences, optometry, paramedicine, pharmacy, podiatry, and radiation therapy. Each deliver courses that provide real-world clinical experience taught by contemporary, practicing healthcare professionals. The School offers bachelor degrees in medical imaging, optometry and vision science, paramedicine, pharmacy, podiatry, and radiation therapy, and postgraduate courses in optometry, ultrasound and podiatry, as well as research Masters and PhDs. The School has a globally-recognised research program, changing clinical practice for the better, advancing healthcare technologies and treatments to improve outcomes for individuals and communities..
What you need to succeed
- Completion of a higher degree in the relevant discipline area and a minimum of four years’ experience as a practicing Paramedic, or an equivalent combination of education/training.
- Eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority as a Paramedic.
- Demonstrated experience (or demonstrated willingness to acquire knowledge) in clinical teaching including the ability to embed future focused thinking in the development of scholarly and innovative approaches to teaching and learning in clinical settings.
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary clinical education practices in paramedicine.
- Experience engaging in paramedic and interdisciplinary health research with ability to undertake additional/further research.
- Strong organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to coordinate activities, work to deadlines and supervise clinical placements.
- Demonstrated connection and relationships within the paramedicine field to enable the development of strong working relationships and enhance the student experience.
- Well-developed aptitude for teamwork and proven ability to work collaboratively.
