ATHOL ROAD PRIMARY SCHOOL EARLY LEARNING CENTRE

Early Childhood Teacher - Maternity Leave Cover until July 2026.

This position is an Educational Leader role for the 3 Year Kinder program only.

Hours are 8:00am - 4:00pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. These hours are not negotiable so please keep this in mind when applying.

Athol Road Primary School Kindergarten is located on the Athol Road Primary School site in the south eastern suburb of Springvale South.

The kindergarten currently employs 4 Kindergarten teachers and 4 Kindergarten educators to work across both programs in 2025.

At Athol Road Primary School Kindergarten, diversity is celebrated in an environment where children feel safe to express themselves and explore different realities. The Kindergarten team work collaboratively to plan and deliver an indoor/outdoor learning program with all staff working with all 3 and 4 year old children on all days of program operation.

In 2025 the Kindergarten will operate two 3 year old and two 4 year old kindergarten programs:

3 year old program: Wednesday - Friday from 9.00am – 2.00pm

4 year old program: Monday – Tuesday from 8.30am – 4.00pm

All staff are paid at VECTEA 2020 Award rates - NOT NEGOTIABLE (VECTEA 2024 in negotiations)

Employment: 24 hours per week

15 hours face to face

7.5 hours non-contact time

1 hour Educational Leader time release

0.5 hour staffing meeting

To be considered for this role you MUST have:

Relevant ECT Qualifications as specified by ACECQA

VIT Registration

Knowledge of the NQF and EYLF

Current Working with Children Clearance

Police Record check

First aid, CPR and anaphylaxis training

Excellent communication skills

ability to work within a team environment

a passion for learning in order to make a difference in children’s lives
