ABOUT THE ROLE

MCWA is an in-home aged care provider working across Melbourne who is looking for Registered Podiatrists to provide podiatry services to all MCWA clients. As MCWA's podiatrist you will be responsible for providing clinical care to our clients in a home setting to ensure they remain safe and independent at home. This role will work closely with other departments to ensure that the right level of service is being delivered to our clients.

Although based at our head office in Bundoora, this role will require you to travel to and from client homes all across Melbourne.

Main duties/ responsibilities:

Perform comprehensive foot assessments to evaluate the condition of the feet, nails, skin, and circulatory health.

Diagnose and treat common podiatric conditions, including ingrown toenails, fungal infections, plantar fasciitis, diabetic foot issues, calluses, bunions, and corns.

Provide wound care for patients with diabetic ulcers or other foot wounds.

Develop individualised care plans based on patient needs, and collaborate with the Allied Health Team.

Educate patients and caregivers on foot care, injury prevention, and management of chronic conditions.

Prescribe orthotics, footwear recommendations, and physical therapy as necessary.

Monitor and document progress of treatments, adjusting care plans as needed.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation, including patient assessments, treatment plans and progress notes.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to patient care, confidentiality, and documentation.

Skills Requirements

Completed a bachelor’s degree in Podiatry.

Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Podiatrist in the State of Victoria and holding a current practicing certificate (essential).

Satisfactory police check.

Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.

Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills and constantly improve competence.

Ability to work autonomously.

Excellent communication skills.

A minimum of 1 years’ experience is preferred.

Experience in the aged care sector would be highly regarded.
