Smart Planning and Design is seeking an experienced and motivated Town Planner to join our team in a maternity leave cover role, with the potential for ongoing full-time employment. The role is to lead in the delivery of efficient and effective project outcomes, planning excellence and high-quality professional services. The winning candidate will have at least 2 years' experience in town planning, project planning and management and excellent communication skills. They will have an appreciation of contemporary planning and urban issues and be aware of industry best practice. The winning candidate will be enthusiastic, willing to learn and want to be part of a growing team of planners and designers in a work environment delivering high quality service to our valued clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the delivery of town planning and project management services

Work collaboratively with the team to achieve client-focused outcomes

Contribute to the development and review of planning strategies and reports

Engage with stakeholders and represent clients in statutory planning matters

Must-Have Skills and Experience:

Minimum 2 years’ experience in town planning, project planning, or project management

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong understanding of contemporary urban planning issues and industry best practices

VCAT experience is highly regarded
