Your Opportunity

A great opportunity for a temporary fulltime position that works over two departments, Planning and Development and Environmental Services. You will provide a range of technical and administrative support functions while contributing to the overall success of the Planning and Environmental Services Directorate. Gaining experience across two of Council's Service driven departments.

Term: Temporary Full-time up to 24 December 2027

Hours of Work: 72.5 hours per fortnight

Pay Level: $2575.55 to $2743.23 per fortnight (Level 2), plus superannuation and annual leave loading

In accordance with Council's Enterprise Agreement and the relevant Award. Pay rate dependant on relevant skills and experience.

Employment Base: Warwick, Queensland

About the Directorate

The Planning and Environmental Services Directorate is made up of two departments, Planning and Development, and Environmental Services. The directorate is tasked with governing development within the region; ensuring compliance with environmental health, building, planning, plumbing, animal management and biosecurity legislation; as well as delivering all aspects of waste management. The department also plays an important role in raising community awareness of compliance with statutory requirements and educating the community. This includes everything from broader land use policy to responsible pet ownership and how residents can reduce waste and improve recycling.

The Directorate is also responsible for setting the strategic direction on the areas of responsibility, which in turn result in playing a critical role in delivering on the liveability of our region.

  • Provide a wide range of administration support and customer service to the Directorate.
  • Provide high quality customer service to both internal and external clients in person and on the telephone.
  • Take operational responsibility for specific administration tasks within the nominated area.
  • Assist in the development, interpretation and ongoing improvements to procedures of administrative practices.

What You Will Need

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • The legal right to live and work in Australia.
  • Extensive office administration experience including strong written communication skills.
  • The ability to develop a working knowledge of a diverse range of functions and tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively to achieve outcomes within required timeframes.
  • Proven ability to work unsupervised and maintain confidentiality.
  • To be able to demonstrate your competence in relation to all of the Selection Criteria as detailed in the Position Description.
