We have a newly created opportunity for a Farm Department Manager at our Free-Range Balliang Piggery based in Balliang East, VIC.

Reporting to the Farm Manager, the purpose of this role is to lead and optimise the piggery’s breeding program to achieve high reproductive performance whilst adhering to animal welfare standards.

About the Role

Manage all breeding activities, adhering to strict standards and protocols – develop production schedules and monitor breeding cycles

Assist in overseeing the daily pig production operations - including breeding, feeding, health checks, animal housing and maintenance

Use, collate and analyse data to improve outcomes and drive performance

Manage a team effectively by providing guidance, training and mentorship

Be a primary point of contact for site network communications, collaborating across departments for performance or maintenance needs.

About You – What You Bring to the Table

A Certificate III in Pork Production - equivalent or higher also accepted

3-5 years of industry experience – a background in Piggery Breeder Operations strongly recommended

Strong problem solving and analytical skills – backed by initiative to implement solutions

Proven and demonstrated leadership and management capabilities – you know how to inspire, mentor and engage your team

Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills
