The Sales Executive plays a crucial role in lead generation, identification of opportunities, community engagement, and the provision of personalized insurance solutions for our clients.
You will develop and possess a deep understanding of various personal, business, farm, and other insurance products, and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and the ability to build and nurture strong client relationships.
Primary Responsibilities
Customer Focus
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, building and nurturing strong relationships, and understanding their insurance needs and objectives
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing guidance on insurance products, risk management strategies, and industry trends
Conduct client meetings in accordance with our account management strategy to assess needs, identify opportunities, and address any concerns or issues
Collaborate as needed with colleagues across departments, including underwriting and claims, to deliver seamless service to clients
Address or escalate client enquiries and complaints within organisational and regulatory standards and timeframes
Business Development
Develop and execute strategic account plans to retain existing clients and acquire new business opportunities
Generate new business by implementing new client contact activities
Support the achievement of agreed retention targets by providing input and assisting with the execution of the Agency renewal management strategy
Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop innovative sales and marketing strategies to capitalise on market opportunities
Develop proposals, presentations, and insurance quotes (with the support of the broader Agency team) tailored to the specific needs of prospective clients, and follow-up with clients as required
Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and client feedback to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
Prepare and present reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to management to track progress and inform decision-making
Policy, Process and Procedures
Oversee the management of client accounts and successful execution in accordance with agreed client management strategies, developed with the support of operations and management
Ensure Salesforce Customer Relationship Management system is managed and updated daily
Identify any non-compliant issues/anomalies and resolve and/or escalate where required
Negotiate terms, pricing and coverage options with underwriting on behalf of clients
Coordinate with internal departments to resolve client inquiries, process policy endorsements, and facilitate claims handling as needed
Risk Management, Compliance and Continuous Improvement
Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging risks to proactively address client needs and concerns
Collaborate with clients to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential losses and protect assets
Identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, and develop actionable recommendations to improve client satisfaction
Continuously strive to achieve high levels of regulatory compliance resulting in satisfactory Quality Assurance reviews
Team Leadership
Provide mentorship, guidance and leadership to junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning
Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to clients
General Duties and Responsibilities
Compliance with:
Code of Conduct, values, policies and procedures, directives, and communications
All Occupational Health and Safety regulations within the workplace including reporting hazards, incidents and near misses; taking care of your own health and safety and the health and safety of others
Participation in quality improvement activities across the organisation
Fire and emergency policy and procedures
Direction about any work-related spend within delegated authority
All client contact recorded in Salesforce
Annual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements
Qualifications and Experience
Required
Police/ASIC clearance (or ability to obtain)
Demonstrated experience in sales, account management, or related roles, with a proven track record of success
Licenses/Certifications:
FNSASIC315 Tier 2 Provide General and Personal Advice in General Insurance
FNASIC513 Tier 1 Provide Advice in General Insurance (on-the-job support to obtain these qualifications)
Australian Driver’s License
Preferred
Strong understanding of insurance products, coverages, and risk management principles across various industries
AQF Certificate IV in General Insurance and/or other advanced industry qualifications (e.g. ANZIIF)
Competencies and Skills
Proficient in all Microsoft Office Products and with a high level of general computer skills
Flexibility, a can-do attitude, and willingness to learn
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others
Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset and a demonstrated ability to drive business growth and achieve sales targets
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Advice/non-advice:
Advice: Subject to the attainment of appropriate Authorities, this role is authorised to provide financial product advice to retail customers in respect of General Insurance products. Financial product advice means a statement or recommendation made to a retail customer with the intention of influencing their decision in considering a general insurance product.
