Construction Insurance Associate | Sydney | 2+ PQE
An outstanding opportunity has opened up for a mid-level lawyer to join a high-performing team with a strong reputation in construction-related insurance matters. This role sits within a market-leading practice known for its deep expertise across professional indemnity, D&O, and regulatory investigations in the construction sector.
The Role
In this role, you will act for both local and global insurers and their insured clients across complex and high-value disputes. Working closely with senior specialists, you’ll handle a variety of technically detailed and commercially sensitive matters, including:
- Advising on policy coverage and defending claims against construction professionals, including contractors, architects, engineers, surveyors, and designers
- Managing multi-party construction disputes (both litigated and unlitigated)
- Guiding clients through investigations and enforcement actions by regulatory bodies (e.g. ASIC, ACCC, SafeWork, and the EPA)
- Advising on directors’ and officers’ liability and managing claims arising from insolvency and regulatory proceedings
About You
We are seeking a lawyer with:
- At least 2 years’ post-admission experience in insurance litigation, construction disputes, or professional indemnity
- Strong analytical skills and confidence navigating complex technical evidence
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-value, multi-party claims
- A commercial, strategic mindset with excellent client relationship skills
- Experience in regulatory investigations is highly desirable
