Centacare FNQ and Catholic Early Learning & Care (CELC) work in partnership to deliver community-focused services that make a genuine difference in Far North Queensland. Our programs span mental health, social wellbeing, family support, education, and early childhood services.

About the Role
This is a key leadership role responsible for managing strategic projects that enhance social and community outcomes. You’ll work across the organisation and alongside external stakeholders to ensure projects are well planned, efficiently delivered, and effectively evaluated.
This role suits a proactive, solutions-focused professional with the ability to navigate complex systems, lead diverse teams, and communicate clearly across all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership & Implementation
Develop and manage detailed project plans, scopes, budgets, and risk frameworks
Deliver projects on time, on scope, and within budget
Coordinate cross-functional teams and provide clear direction to ensure project success
Monitor progress and adjust project plans in response to challenges and opportunities
Stakeholder Engagement
Act as the main point of contact for all project-related matters
Engage internal and external stakeholders to foster collaboration and buy-in
Facilitate project-related meetings, workshops, and consultations
Keep all parties informed through timely and consistent communication
Change Management & Communication
Lead communication strategies to support change initiatives
Support staff and teams through transitions, ensuring clarity and consistency
Promote positive engagement with new initiatives across the organisation
Reporting & Documentation
Provide regular updates to senior leadership and the board
Maintain clear and comprehensive project documentation including Gantt charts, scopes of work, evaluation tools, and engagement strategies
Ensure all reporting meets internal standards and funder requirements
Continuous Improvement
Identify lessons learned and apply them to future projects
Build a culture of innovation, learning, and improvement within project teams
Supervise or coordinate other project staff and contractors where required
We are looking for a capable and confident project professional with a passion for community outcomes and a highly collaborative working style. You will bring:
Proven experience in project management, ideally in community services or organisational change
Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects
Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
Highly developed communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
Strong risk assessment and mitigation capabilities
Experience in using project management tools and reporting software
A current Blue Card and Yellow Card exemption (or eligibility to obtain)
A current National Police Certificate and valid driver’s licence
