Seeking a qualified Financial Counsellor for our Newman office, in Western Australia. This position is a 12-month full-time contract based at our Newman Office.

Pilbara Community Legal Service Inc. (PCLS) is a non-profit, government-funded, community organisation that provides free, accessible, equitable, responsible, and culturally appropriate advice, support, and advocacy to the people of the Pilbara. We offer a range of services including:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Client support

• Client financial assessment and planning

• Debt management and reduction

• Record keeping and compliance

• Outreach and networking across the Pilbara

• Additional tasks as reasonably requested

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

• Good written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to write and present formal reports and correspondence.

• Demonstrated skills in working with, and knowledge of, Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and Outlook and other database entry systems.

• Capacity to maintain a high degree of discretion and exercise sound judgement in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.

• Highly organised and able to multitask.

• Be non-judgemental and empathetic, and able to set personal boundaries.

• Working rights within Australia

• Current Australia Drivers License, Class 3.

• Police Clearance and Working with Children Check required.
