The Senior Speech Pathologist position’s objective is to provide high level, quality care and clinical Speech Pathology management to the local community. The Senior Speech Pathologist will exercise independent judgement and proficient clinical reasoning in the provision of high-quality Speech Pathology services to clients of The Speech & OT Centre, and will strive to make a difference to people’s lives by providing individuals with opportunities to maximise their potential. Senior Speech Pathologists will support the Operations Manager in the planning, implementation and evaluation of clinical services where required, will contribute to leadership directions of The Speech & OT Centre, and may provide clinical supervision to Speech Pathology Students, Allied Health Assistants and Speech Pathologists.

Key accountabilities include:

§ Plan, implement and evaluate high standard comprehensive assessment and intervention service provision for clients accessing Speech Pathology.

§ Develop and review family-focussed, goal-directed individualised plans of care, in consultation with clients, carers/families and other agencies as required.

§ Lead, promote and participate in interdisciplinary management of clients as required, which may include joint sessions, joint goal settings and care planning, case conferences and case reviews.

§ Demonstrate commitment to best practice principles in the delivery of Speech Pathology services.

§ Maintain confidential and comprehensive clinical records, client documentation, clinical reports, letters and other written clinical documentation as required, and report on services delivered as part of service agreements with community stakeholders

§ Liaise with referral sources and other key service providers as required.
