The Role
The candidate will manage procurement governance, provide strategic advice on procurement rules and policies, ensure compliance with legislation, and promote internal procurement templates, all while supporting officials and stakeholders.
Your duties will include:
- Assisting business areas with the development of business cases, procurement plans, tender documents, probity and evaluation plans, and delegate approvals
- Using government systems such as AusTender, BuyICT, and the Commonwealth Contracting Suite to facilitate procurement outcomes
- Drafting contracts using Commonwealth templates, and managing contract variations and extensions
- Providing sound contract management advice to internal business areas
- Delivering procurement reporting tasks, including AusTender reporting, sections of the Annual Report, Senate Estimates briefs, Questions on Notice, and Senate Order obligations
- Managing and maintaining procurement guidance materials, procedures, internal templates, and other resources
- Contributing to the continual development and improvement of procurement processes
- Leading, managing, and mentoring other members of the procurement Team
- Collaborating with team members and internal stakeholders to address new and emerging strategic issues or changes in procurement policy
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
The Ideal Person
We are looking for an experienced procurement specialist who can manage a range of complex and day-to-day procurements autonomously. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and proven leadership and interpersonal skills. You should be customer-focused, able to manage multiple tasks, and work collaboratively with colleagues to provide seamless and effective procurement services.
You will need to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the CPRs, the broader Commonwealth Procurement Framework, relevant sections of the PGPA Act, and the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Rule 2014 (PGPA Rule).
Please note: to be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian citizen and hold at least a Baseline Security Clearance.
Salary / Rate
- Non-ongoing 12-month contract / S26 transfer: $127,792 to $137,915 plus 15.4% Super
- Labour Hire 12-month contract: $85/hr - $95/hr + 12% Super
- Available for candidates based in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, and Brisbane
- Available as a full-time or part-time engagement
- Flexible Working Arrangements available
