shibui is an iconic Melbourne hair salon who have been doing things differently since 1983.

Perfectly located at 139 Toorak Road South Yarra, we are looking for a dynamic salon receptionist/co-ordinator to join our team and assist us in building friendly trusting relationships with our clients.

We have a beautiful, light filled salon space and quite a large team that require decisive co-ordination from our reception group in order for the salon to run smoothly whilst delivering A-Grade customer service.

We are ideally looking for a team member to work between 35-38 hours a week with evening and Saturday availability essential. In addition to a healthy base rate, you will also be in the mix for generous monthly retail commission and of course we will look after your hair at no cost to you too!

The successful applicant will be part of a pro-active reception team who are responsible for all aspects of salon support within a busy salon. We are looking for someone with

solid organisational skills

excellent communication abilities

strong customer service instincts

ability to remain calm and focused in all circumstances

Responsibilities include;

greeting clients

understanding and imparting the shibui philosophy

taking enquires and booking appointments

co-ordinating staff and clients

processing payments and balancing the till

managing retail displays and stock

preparing and enacting daily admin tasks

To be successful in this role, you should be highly organised, willing and able to multitask and manage clients with respect at all times. Providing high quality service and client satisfaction is our ultimate goal.

Prior salon experience at hair or beauty reception or on the salon floor would be an advantage but it's not a deal breaker if you haven't.
