We are seeking a registered Behaviour Support Practitioner to work directly with clients, families, and support teams to develop and implement positive behaviour support plans that improve quality of life. This is a role that combines clinical expertise with compassion, creativity, and a person-centred approach.
Your role will include:
Conducting assessments and functional behaviour analyses
Developing evidence-based behaviour support plans, focusing on evidence-based positive behaviour support principles
Collaborating with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Providing ongoing support and training to implement behaviour support strategies
Ensuring compliance with NDIS and legislative requirements
Regular reporting and documentation to ensure high-quality service delivery
You will have the autonomy to manage your own caseload and work in a way that suits your strengths while making a meaningful impact on your clients’ lives.
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
A strong passion for making a positive impact on the lives of people with disabilities
Experience in developing and implementing behaviour support plans and possess extensive knowledge of positive behaviour supports principles and best practices
High emotional intelligence, emotional maturity, compassion, and excellent communication skills
Knowledge of the NDIS and its requirements for Behaviour Support
Knowledge of restrictive practices and Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework
A commitment to ongoing professional development and a person-centred, strengths-based approach
Essential:
Relevant tertiary qualification background Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or associated field
Current registration to practice as a Core or Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner in accordance with the NDIS Capability Framework. NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner number required.
Current NSW Drivers Licence
Must hold a Valid paid employee Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Must hold a NDIS Worker Check Clearance
Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation, NDIS New Worker Induction, NDIS Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals & NDIS Supporting Effective Communication Modules (NDIS Commission website)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional time management, planning and prioritisation skills
Demonstrated ability to work to time constraints and handle tasks with discretion and confidentiality
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word,
Highly motivated and enthusiastic
Knowledge of the Disability Services Industry
Excellent report writing skills
Commitment to delivering client-centred care
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
