JOB DETAILS:
SALARY: Subject to Clerks Private Sector Award. Remuneration dependant on exerience, plus standard rate of Employer Superannuation Guarantee Contribution
TYPE of EMPLOYMENT:
Your employment is on a permanent part-time basis –up to 20 hours per week.
REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer
ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Finance Officer will be responsible for the financial management of Queensland Country Tourism Ltd. (QCT) providing essential accounting preparation, input, control, analysis and reporting of financial accounting information utilising available systems and procedures.
You will also be responsible for co-ordinating the administrative functions in relation to Human Resources of QCT.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage all aspects of Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Reconciliation of all Bank Accounts in Xero in a timely manner ensuring income and costs are allocated to the appropriate account codes
- Fortnightly Payroll – including prompt payment of Employer Super Guarantee payments
- Remittance of payruns and end of financial year payroll to ATO
- Preparation of Quarterly BAS and monthly IAS
- Prepare monthly financials reports
- Assist CEO with budgeting and forecasting
- Present reports to CEO and QCT board as required
- Assist with preparation of Budgeting and Forecasting
- Liaise with Accountant and Auditor
- Liaise with banking institutions to ensure correct accounts held and issue of credit cards for relevant new employees
- Liaise with debtors and creditors for account issues
- Arrange for an annual audit of all finances in accordance with ASIC requirements
- Maintain ASIC register following board movements
- Perform Financial duties for Drive Inland Promotions Association
- Keep accurate HR Records
- Prepare monthly Staff Leave entitlement reports
- Prepare Employment Contracts
- Schedule and minute taking of Staff Performance Reviews
- Research and organise appropriate Staff Professional Development
- Keep up to date with Fair Work legislation
- Onboard and off board employees including set up in payroll and processing of final pays.
- Attend Board and/ or sub-committee meetings when required
- Back up for Board Administration when required
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
- Review of policies and procedures to maintain legality and relevance
- Review accounting records to ensure fit for purpose and accurate reporting
- You may be required to perform other reasonable duties which are not listed in this position description from time to time to meet QCT’s business and operational needs.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Proficient in Financials Systems – bookkeeping, payroll etc.
- Sound knowledge of payroll processing and employee entitlements
- Extensive general ledger accounts payable, receivable and reporting skills
- Proficient in Xero accounting software package (or similar)
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Able to handle multiple tasks and stay well organised
- Strong attention to detail and effective analysis
- Effective financial document organisation and archiving
- A friendly, positive and professional attitude in dealing with staff, Board and other key stakeholders
PERFORMANCE GOALS/ KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- Accurate processing and control of financial data and records
- Processing of payroll and transmission of payslips within a day of payrun
- Monthly financial reports prepared and available by 10th of the following month i.e., Nov 2024 figures to be available by the 10th December 2024
- Liaison with debitors and creditors on account issues and the issue of remittance advices to accounts paid
- All government reporting requirements and obligations are met by the due dates and provided in correct format. (i.e., BAS, PAYG, FBT etc)
- Update and maintain staff protocols and advices for legal requirements as well as relevance
- Compilation or outsource of employment contracts and onboarding and offboarding of employees within 1stand last week of employment
