About the Role:
As a Senior Welfare Advisor at VU, you will provide personalised support and guidance to students in regards to various challenges and facilitate all students’ successful engagement with the university life and study. The focus is on offering tailored advice, resources, and programs to help students successfully navigate university life. It will involve close collaboration with academic and professional staff, as well as external agencies like Centrelink, aiming to empower students to manage their finances, access essential services, and secure stable housing.
This is an full-time continuing position at a HEP 6 classification with salary range being $88,691 - $96,001 per annum plus 17% employer superannuation working 36.75 hours per week.
About You:
We are seeking a candidate with a background in social work, education, or related field and a passion for working with students from diverse backgrounds. The ideal candidate will:
Possess strong communication and organisational skills.
Be a creative problem solver with strong critical thinking skills
Possess the ability to adapt to change
Possess the ability to build relationships with students, staff, and external partners.
Be committed to providing excellent service and have great attention to detail
