As a Senior Adviser in Careers and Employability at the University of Melbourne, you'll be at the forefront of shaping students' professional futures. You'll have the opportunity to design and deliver innovative career programs, provide expert guidance to diverse student cohorts, and foster crucial connections between academia and industry. Your role will directly impact students' career readiness and employability, making this a key position for those passionate about career education and student success in higher education.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide Expert Guidance: Deliver learning support through group sessions, one-on-one advising, and online platforms to enhance students' career planning and workplace readiness.[KR1]
  • Design Innovative Programs: Develop and implement first-class employability learning programs that build students' skills and industry knowledge.
  • Foster Stakeholder Relationships: Collaborate with faculties, industry partners, and university departments to create targeted career development opportunities.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the evaluation and enhancement of career services, ensuring they meet evolving student and industry needs.

You may be a great fit if:

You are a dynamic professional with a strong background in career education, excellent facilitation skills, and a passion for empowering students to achieve their professional goals in a rapidly changing job market.

You may also:

  • Have a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent mix of education and experience in career services.
  • Demonstrate experience in delivering career and employability programs, including individual advising and group learning.
  • Show proven ability in training and workshop facilitation across multiple delivery modes, including virtual platforms.
  • Possess strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build networks across diverse internal and external contacts.
