The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Behaviour Change Program Facilitator to join our residential Breathing Space Men’s Behaviour Change Program.
In this role your Key Responsibilities will include:
Facilitation of group work for men who choose to use violence in intimate relationships and provide support to work towards positive change.
Contributing to risk assessments, safety planning, case note and report writing.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Managing crisis and emotional distress of clients
If you have experience working with clients and groups focussed on behaviour change for FDVA (Family and Domestic Violence and Abuse), AOD, Mental Health or other relatable support areas, we want to hear from you! This is your opportunity to transfer those skills and contribute to the safety of women and children impacted by FDVA. Breathing Space will provide a supportive learning environment to develop your understanding and skills in the FDVA sector.
This position will be offered on a permanent full-time basis working 76 hours per fortnight. This position will work on a fly in fly out basis to Hedland. You will work regular hours from Monday to Friday, spending four weeks in Hedland and then four weeks at the Perth Breathing Space sites. Accommodation in Hedland will be provided for you.

Selection Criteria
Required
Tertiary qualification in a human services field, and/or experience in a related field.
Intermediate facilitation skills.
Ability to respond to challenging behaviours and have an understanding of the origins of these behaviours when working with clients.
Ability to manage crisis situations and emotional distress.
Cultural competency to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, culturally and linguistically diverse populations, and people with disabilities.
Being able to share ideas clearly, listen carefully, and adapt how you speak or write depending on who you're talking to, so that your message is understood and effective.
Unrestricted drivers’ licence
Satisfactory Police clearance (not older than 6 months from the issue date)
Working With Children Check
Willingess to obtain a Department of Justice Clearance if required
Desirable
Experience working within Men’s Behaviour Change Programs (desirable)
Qualification or experience working within FDVA (desirable)
Experience working with remote communities (desirable)
