Are you a highly skilled, innovative and agile professional who wants to make a difference to the lives of adults and children experiencing domestic and family violence?

DVNQ is expanding our team, so we are looking for a Men’s Behaviour Change Facilitator to work as part of our dedicated Prevention Team in our Men’s Behaviour Change Program (MenTER).

In this role, you will work with men who want to stop their use of violence and controlling behaviour, and build healthy, respectful relationships through individual and group work.

As a Men’s Behaviour Change Practitioner, you will work as part of a team to help coordinate positive change and accountability for men who use violence in their relationships.

You will be responsible for referral assessments, providing support to the program facilitators, attending court to provide information to respondents and will maintain contact with participants of the men’s behaviour change groups and partner with local services to strengthen referral pathways and collaboration.

About you:

Successful candidates will be future focused, accountable, and able to create a positive culture. You’ll be a great fit if you have a team approach to enhancing the safety of women and children, reflective practice, cultural awareness and well-established self-care practices.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate, with examples, that they are able to meet the following selection criteria.

Selection Criteria:

A three-year tertiary qualification in a relevant human services discipline is highly desirable.

Minimum of 2 years’ full time equivalent professional experience in a relevant human services discipline is desirable.

Completed specialist evidence-based group perpetrator intervention training is desirable or prepared to undertake such training.

Experience in facilitating perpetrator or other relevant group work with clients with complex and diverse needs is highly desirable.

Demonstrated understanding of behavioural change process in relation to domestic and family violence.

Demonstrated nuanced and intersectional understanding of the drivers, dynamics and impacts of domestic and family violence and the dynamics of gender, power and control.

Understanding of and preparedness to work within a feminist framework.

Demonstrated recognition of the complex ways in which children are harmed through experiencing violence, and the tactics of control and abuse of power that they experience.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate, problem solve, influence and build relationships.

Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to respond to multiple demands when working under pressure.

High standards of personal integrity, ethical principles and values.

Understanding of Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012 and Child Protection Act 1999 and Child Protection Reform Amendment Act 2017, Family Law Act 1975 and Domestic and Family Violence Information Sharing Guidelines 2017 and Information Sharing Guidelines 2018.

General:

Highly competent with technology e.g., Microsoft suite of programs, and the ability to work within various databases.

Current QLD C Class Driver’s License which must remain current during the term of employment.

Working with Children Check (Blue Card) which must remain current during the term of employment.

Australia: National Police Check Clearance – at organisation expense.
