An exceptional opportunity exists for an experienced Payroll Manager to join a well-regarded educational institution on Brisbane’s Northside. With a longstanding history of excellence and a vibrant, team-oriented culture, this organisation is seeking a skilled payroll professional to oversee the end-to-end payroll function for a predominantly casual and seasonal workforce of 250+ staff.

This role is ideal for someone looking to make a real impact by streamlining processes, ensuring compliance, and providing leadership in a collaborative environment.

About the Role:
Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the end-to-end payroll process for casual and seasonal staff, from timesheet validation to processing fortnightly pay cycles
• Interpreting relevant awards and ensuring accurate calculation of wages, allowances, penalty rates, and entitlements
• Reviewing current manual payroll processes and implementing automation improvements
• Managing the payroll inbox and responding promptly to payroll-related queries
• Conducting audits and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements
• Collaborating with Finance and HR teams, and overseeing an Accounts Officer to whom tasks can be delegated

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• 5+ years’ experience managing end-to-end payroll functions
• Strong knowledge of payroll systems and Microsoft Office suite
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities
• Experience driving payroll process improvements and change
• Ability to obtain a Blue Card at short notice
