We are seeking suitable applications for a highly capable and values-driven health professionals to join our dynamic Medical Technology and Physics team in the role of Senior Medical Scientist.
This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Full Time and Part Time appointments with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 30 June 2026.
What is our Senior Medical Scientist role?
This position carries out:
- production and quality control of radiopharmaceuticals required for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging, including Gallium imaging compounds;
- activities required for the maintenance of all required internal and externally applied standards of the radiopharmaceutical production environment.
The Medical Technology and Physics Department is responsible for the following services and resources:
- Med Tech Services
- Bioelectronics Engineering
- Biomechanical Engineering
- Radiopharmaceutical Production and Development Centre (RAPID)
- Medical Physics
- Visual Electrophysiology Clinic
- Australian Inherited Retinal Disease Registry and DNA Bank

Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) is one of Australia's leading teaching tertiary hospitals. Located at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre 4km from Perth city centre, SCGH provides a comprehensive range of clinical services including trauma, emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, general medicine, general surgery, and cardiac care.
