As the Sous Chef you will assist the Head Chef in leading our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences that complement our vibrant atmosphere and commitment to quality. Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Chef to lead and inspire a team of kitchen staff to execute creative and high-quality dishes that align with our menu concept and brand identity
Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu development, food preparation, inventory management, cost control (food and wages) and kitchen hygiene
Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and organization
Collaborate with The Head Chef to develop seasonal menus using fresh ingredients, specials, and promotional events that reflect current culinary trends and customer preferences
Has a natural affinity for training up staff with a holistic, inclusive approach to encourage long-term retention amongst staff
Foster a positive and supportive work environment that encourages creativity, growth, and teamwork among kitchen staff
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a similar high-volume, quality-driven environment
Experience in Aussie pub cuisine is a must
Strong culinary skills and a passion for creating innovative and delicious dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients
Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards, with a commitment to upholding best practices
Creative flair and the ability to develop and execute menu concepts that resonate with our target audience
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
