About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Fleet and Safety Officer to oversee the safety, maintenance, and operational readiness of our vehicle fleet. This vital role ensures our fleet runs efficiently, remains compliant, and supports a seamless transport service for our customers. You’ll be the go-to person for fleet upkeep, safety systems, incident reporting, and compliance – helping us stay reliable and responsive every single day.

This is a hands-on position that reports to the General Manager and plays a key part in our operations team. You’ll also provide relief driving as needed, so at a minimum a Light Rigid (LR) license is a must.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate all preventative and reactive maintenance for a fleet of cars and buses

Ensure vehicles meet compliance and safety standards under TfNSW and WHS regulations

Conduct inspections, maintain detailed fleet records and ensure registrations are current

Manage relationships with service providers and suppliers

Lead vehicle inductions, wheelchair-accessible vehicle training, and safe work practices

Record and investigate fleet-related incidents using Howsafe system

Compliance with BOAS and Point to Point

Provide relief driving support when required

What We're Looking For

Experience in fleet management, logistics or a similar operational safety role

Sound knowledge of vehicle maintenance, WHS, and compliance systems

Exceptional organisational, communication and reporting skills

Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a hands-on attitude

Sound understanding of BOAS and Point to Point legislation.

Experience in a customer-focused or community-based environment is an advantage

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum 2 Years experience

Light Rigid (LR) Driver’s Licence

Hold a Bus Drivers Authority

Proficiency in record-keeping and safety systems

Bus and Coach Operator accreditation highly regarded

Fleet Management or WHS qualification (desirable)
